(GVE) – Founder ofthe popularsocial media Facebook Mark Zuckerberg on Tuesday, visited Nigeriato learn about the country’s start-up ecosystem.Zuckerberg who was in Nigeria on his first trip to sub-Saharan Africa,paid a visit to the Yaba technology hub in Lagos and alsomet withdevelopers and entrepreneurs.He disclosed this via his verified Facebook account.“Next stop: Lagos! This is my first trip to sub-Saharan Africa. I’ll bemeeting with developers and entrepreneurs, and learning about thestartup ecosystem in Nigeria. The energy here is amazing and I’mexcited to learn as much as I can.“Our first stop is the Co-creation Hub Nigeria (CcHUB)in Yaba. I got totalk to kids at a summer coding camp and entrepreneurs who come toCcHub to build and launch their apps. I’m looking forward to meetingmore people here,” he posted.Zuckerberg says he will also listen, learn and take ideasback toCalifornia on how Facebook can better support tech development andentrepreneurship across Africa.One of his first stops on the trip was to visit a ‘Summer of Code Camp’at the Co-Creation Hub (CcHub) in Yaba, known as theSilicon Valley ofNigeria.At CcHub Zuckerberg met with developers like Temi Giwa, who runs aplatform called Life Bank that makes blood available when and where itis needed in Nigeria. Life Bank saves lives by mobilising blooddonations, taking inventory of all blood available in Nigeria, anddelivering blood in the right condition to where it is needed.In response to some of the messages, an excited Mark said: “Thanksfor such a warm welcome”!
